Black box under passenger seat

Hi have just purchased a second hand berlingo.It is 5 years old.I have noticed that there is a small black box under the seat of the passenger with some wires going to and from..Can anybody explain what they are please.It does not have a top to it

You don't say what model you have but on our car it's a pull-out storage drawer (lift and tug). Can't comment on the wires though.

Do the seats have side air bags fitted ?
So where does this bit go then ?

Can you post a photo on here of it?

I will try but it moves only a little bit. and is very difficult to get a shot of it...It sits under the seat .. connected to wires... no lid on the top... just am very puzzled what it could be.perhaps i will have to pay a garage to help me with this one

No the air bag is not in the door I think... the wires go under the carpet

Its a 1.6 HDI ... this is is deffinitey not a drawer... It is about 4 inches by 6
