Help required please! when carrying out a compression test on a berlingo 1.9d 2006 ,do you screw adapters all they way in till they go tight like the glow plug .and do you put ptfe tape over the thread to stop leakage,and what is the best way of stopping engine from starting many thanks.ps also does anyone know the Hz reading for the timming belt tension thanks

I thought the normal way of doing a compression test was to remove all the plugs and then test each cylinder at a time with the gauge
With the plugs removed it can't start

Thanks for the information but I don't have a seems tension tester ,but was going to get a Hz tester so I could use it on my other cars ,I think ill just have to do it the old fashion way 90 degree twist.
