Clock and date problem
#1
I noticed today that the date had reset to 2000 and the time was 11 hours out. Is this an underlying sign of a problem e.g. starter battery on its way out? Any help appreciated.

Mine randomly set itself to Spanish once. Never did it again.

I can confirm that my suspicions were right. The engine struggled to turn over this morning after the car had been stood for a few days. I noticed that on turning the key the clock/date reset as the engine slowly revolved.

So... from what I can see, if the battery voltage drops below a certain limit, the clock and date resets.

Remember to check the alternator as well as the battery i think it's around 14.4 v save you bying one and finding out it's the otherSad. So you hadn't gone through a worm hole then

Well, its an old Tudor battery, so I'll be replacing it anyway as a matter of course. A Varta 77ah with 5 year guarantee should do the trick nicely.
