Hi newbie to the forum I've got a 1.8d berlingo really tidy all through been well looked after just lacking power I'm after as much info as possible on swapping a 306 d turbo engine into it my friend did one years ago and said there want much to it but any info or links would be grateful

Cheapest option is probably to sell it and buy a 2.0HDi! Also the least hassle.
Plenty of 2.0HDi Berlingos out there in very good condition.

Or get a MK3 1.6tdi 90bhp or 115bhp.

Just slip the clutch like my wife does, makes go faster sounds .....easier than an engine swap but not so cheap in the long run though !

Haha like it I think I'm going have a bash at it spoke to my friend who has a xantia engined berlingo and also a friend who has had a 306 engined berlingo and a v6 berlingo too and it seems simple enough to do

Get some help from the 205'ers when you actually do it - they'll like working on something with so much underbonnet space. Most "fun" swaps are V6 and early Mi16 (much easier than V6). Most common engines to swap in will come from a 306 or Xsara.

I have a t reg 1 9 d. Yu are not alone. Just got mine and it is slow but pulls well I find it funny how slow it is on hills but the mpg makes up for it !
