Hello everyone

Hello everyone.
I've been visiting the forum for years but never said hello. My poor old 2L mk1 was recently was carted off, after a close encounter with a rock face. Poor thing. Her name was Tick (small head, big body) and I loved her so!
Her replacement (mk3) is now sitting outside, feeling a bit shy and not fitting in... due to exhibiting several faults already. She's on 28 days warranty so hopefully the dealer will foot the repair bill. But what a hassle. I think the mk1 was a better car.
Anyhoo... it's nice to finally post and say hello to you all... woo hoo!

Thanks for hellos Smile Yey!

Yes only 28 days, although she's not new; an 04.
She's suffering with... an odd steering wobble. Get it to a certain lock and the power steering tries to sort of nudge, nudge, nudge back to straight. Quite disconcerting on roundabouts. It seems others have this problem... including my partner's mk2. The garage think the pump the best place to start.

And also... an intermittent fault on the indicators - it seems only when the headlights are on. They periodically stop working, whilst still engaged. Giving the stalk a push down sets them off again but only while you hold it down.

I think it must also be connected to... the instrument panel lights flickering and going off on one occasion (the whole panel). How rubbish! I know it could be the typical Comms unit palaver and I've read a thread from Vossy1, here on the forum, who fixed a similar issue by replacing his unit. But equally I thought it might still just be a bad earth or corroded wiring, so I'll maybe ask the garage for advice on it.

I wasn't impressed to find all this out within a day of purchasing. The dealer confirmed before I bought it that they'd pay for any faults that showed up, to be fixed locally (as I bought it 170 miles away), but now is making noises that 'it's a ten year old car and we don't want to spend too much money'. How rubbish! I miss my old mk1, sigh.

Wish me luck. I've got to get my confidence in her firm before I can have the planned towbar fitted... which is a total pain as I was supposed to be going off on holiday in my caravan at the end of the week and now can't. How rubbish! Ha ha!
