We seem to be being invaded by spammers recently on site.
Unfortunately, on reading some of the crap, it makes more sense than some of the kosher postings that have appeared on here of late !!!!:whistle::whistle:

Now, now...
You know, I really get irked by the number of "green" horses/ponies of several years' age advertised around my way on Gumtree. Seems the people who fail to ever properly train their dog, graduate to small horses and continue their delinquencies.

Don't reply to the threads or look at the links just click the report button and put something in the description box for a mod to sort it out. They really are a nuisance and I've seen forums shut down because of them before now.
So where does this bit go then ?

Is this still about the silly advice you gave a guy and his asking price. Don't buy second hand cars because you don't know who touched them and I like it but I won't buy it because insurance declaration.
In the wise words of Snatch:
"Anything to declare?"
"Yeah, don't try to sell cars to andy-womble"
Anyway, let it go bro. It was just a bit of banter. Fist me!

Beginning to get angry and very bored now.... No not just about the post which you decided to take a snipe at me over, but more specifically at the downturn in common sense and increase in crap that is being written generally. I have been active on this forum from the early days and have extensive knowledge of motor vehicles and feel that it may now be time to move on....

Ah come on it's a van forum of course the standard question will come over and over and over. That's the problem with forums, you don't have a collective info that can be easily accessed. I like when I fix a fault to say whats what and throw in the numbers etc so in 2 years if somebody does a search at least they can find a reasonable solution to the problem. A lot of the solved threads involve "ah thanks I fixed it, gg everyone" that's about it. On the other hand this place isn't very active which is surprising since the amount of Berlingo / Partner I see on the road is more than a Fiesta. Although the average age behind the wheel of a multispace is like 60+ years old. I doubt those people even know a forum exist.
Another good example is, I was wondering the other day if the same engine on a different model inlet manifold will have bigger holes compared to mine. So I thought hmm should I or shouldn't I ask? And of course I said to myself nah who the hell is going to know or even care about such things on here. It's not the people it's 1 the nature of the car being a van ffs and 2 the berlingo is a vehicle that has been botched together by different parts from different citroen / peugeos which doesn't help one bit. I did a lot of stuff on mine by trial and error and I want to mention my experience in few topics eventually when i get some time free from working on my track car.
You know forums are great place for good info and exceed the Haynes Manual but often it's better to arm yourself with a socket, or in this french occasion with a stupid Torx drive, and tackle the problems head on.
One more thing. Gone are the days when people use to write lengthy replies that were interesting read with some humour and helpful info. It's all 1 single liner replies these days.

Years ago I moderated on a forum that used basically this format. It was easy to delete spam posts and threads by calling up a checklist of posts by a person (in this case, the spammer). You just ticked the boxes or selected all, and off they went.
In that sense it made little or no difference as to whether someone had "replied" to a spammer or not.
As to gripes about a forum, I always tell people to take a break rather than flounce. Three months passes very quickly when one rediscovers life away from the screen!
