fan and engine temp ?

just wondering at what temp should the electric fan cut in on a 1.6hdi ? I've done 14k in it in 7 weeks and never heard it on, needle sits at just above 80,when i took it for an oil change i give her a blast up the bypass and then left it ticking over 15/20 mins waiting for my turn on the ramp,never kicked in temp went just above the 90 mark..im just curious so i dont panic if we ever get a summer and im sat stewing in traffic,hazard of the job :-)

Mine has never gone above 90 even when trying to make it , just before an oil change to get the oil really hot!

Hope someone knows the answer

thanks for the answer,must be ok then,that was the only time mines been that hot,doesnt get thrashed about normally,mpg is king to a courier :-)
