Oil filter Housing seal kit

Hi all,

I finally got to change the Oil filter housing seal using the following kit purchased from ebay, 1103L8 "Oil filter seal pocket"

After draining the engine oil, removing filter & undoing the 4, 10mm bolts the housing can be removed. Before removing the larger of the 2 seals I double check to make sure that they are the same size. The above kit contains 3 seals, one for filter cap, & 2 for housing the larger of the 2 fits but is slightly thinner but deeper than the original & leaves a rim just above the housing & a space within the groove. I guess this squashes in to the space once the housing is reattached.

The small O-ring is totally wrong for my housing as it is bigger in diameter and would definitely not fit, the original is a very thick flat O-ring & does not have the little knobbly bits.

So all good with that little problem as the leak seems to have stopped.

Now to continue with finding the source of my erratic idle.
