upgrading spec: it would be interesting to know
#1
hi there,

first (probably stupid) newbie question:

Is it possible to 'upgrade' a 2006 1,6 HDI berlingo?

Some 2006 Mk 2s like mine have extras such as rain sensors, on board computer, reverse parking etc as standard..theoretically wouldn't it be possible to swap the computer module, and consoles etc from such a scrapped Berli and incorporate them into mine??

of course, it's bound not to be as simple as it sounds..but any ideas on feasibility would be great to hear! Smile

Computer relatively easy, been done by many on here including me. Other "extras" could be done ( I and others have also added cruise control) try a search and join Citroen Service or Peugeot Servicebox to cross reference parts

OK thanks for the replies! Reading around the forum I couldn't find a complete list of what would need to be done, but as far as i can see, it would involve having to take the key barrel, keys, BSI unit and ECU from one other vehicle, even perhaps the odometer as well..that's a lot of work!

mine has central locking and aircon, but it would be nice to have the rain sensor operated wipers..i've seen after-market devices which are supposed to be universal, but i haven't found anyone who's tried to put one in a Berli.

Would you mind telling me how you added cruise control to a 1.6hdi?

I would love to be able to do that

Yes, a cruise control would be nice. opinions seem to be divided between 'relatively easy' and suggestions that it would be easier to get another Berli with it all built in.

Could anyone who has upgraded to these options (cruise cont, light/rain sensor etc) give some more info about it please?

I (and probably others) would be very curious!

Thanks!

Mine is a M59 (Mk2) - same as yours? If so, I'll point you in the right direction
