Does anyone else have a really annoying whistling sound from their drivers door mirror at speeds over 30mph? I can stop it by putting my finger in a certain position (?????) on top of the mirror but it's a bit dangerous (not to mention cold in the winter) to drive one handed all the time...

my wifes fiat does that! - it is because a piece of trim is missing and there is a little hole the trim fixes too that turns into a whistle over a certain speed!
no sure about the blingo though, mine doesn't whistle... are there any visible holes or gaps in the mirror housing?

It may not be your finger on top of the mirror, but your whole hand disrupting the air flow. You need to upset the air void in the mirror housing to break up the resonant frequency. Try a piece of electrical tape across the gap, or drilling even a small hole in the shell at the bottom.

I had a similar prob when my lazy lout son knocked my mirror when passing down the drive on his mtn bike, a bit of gorilla tape did the trick. and a kick up the a**se also did the trick for him.
