Stop Start Issue
#1
Adivice reqd please.

I recently purchased the following.

2011 61 plate xtr berlingo multispace
1.6 ehdi semi auto version

The issue i have is when the car tries to enter the stop start the car just stops. The battery light comes on. Then the only way i can restart it is by some switching semi auto dial to neutral and restarting normally.

When eco mode is deactivated car runs without a hitch.

Is there anything i can do to.further diagnose this problem or is it straight to the garage with it?

can anyone recommend an independent garage in the Glasgow area that could quickly and cheaply diagnose this problem?

As it is new to you I would return it and tell them to fix it. I assume the Citroen 3 year warranty has expired?

Thanks Trevor,

unfortunately high mileage, private sale. I have resigned myself to getting it repaired myself.

Just checking the forum to see if anyone has had similar fault.

May be worth you sending a PM to Taxi, he is close to Glasgow and used to drive the same model as yours.

You could of course leave it turned off.

Unless you do a lot of idling at traffic lights the fuel saved is very little

Taxi,

Thanks for the reply.

I wouldnt know where to start regarding ecu update, I take it that would need to be a citroen garage for that ?

I'm in the glasgow/hamilton/east kilbride area, any recommendations for garages? i've not owned a car for years, lol.

I checked battery voltage with a multimeter today 12.65v from what i've read online that seems ok.

Turning the eco mode off for now, when i remember that is.

cheers

Tom

I always forget to turn it off, doh! Pain in the backside resets every time you restart the car.

Seems Citroen Armadale is not too far away.contact them first and get quote for diagnostic and see if fault code evident and take it from there.

Citroen Armadale 2 Station Road Armadale EH48 3LP tel 01501 862658
You might get better result if you contact Citroen UK with your enquiry first.
