Hi All,

I have a 2008 M59 Berlingo van with the 1.6hdi engine.

It started miss firing a couple of weeks ago, being busy with work I dropped it off with my local mechanic. He come back saying it was an injector that was knackered and they would need to change it.

After a few days he called me saying the injector was stuck in the engine, he told me the head of the injector is steel and rusts.

I have just been down to see him and he said that they are putting spray down the injector and there is some slight movement, but he has had it 2 weeks now.

So I need some advice on weather to let the mechanic keep going and try to replace the injector, or do I call it quits and sell the van as spares or repair, I like the van and would love to save it but I have jobs coming up and wondering if its worth putting money into the van or buy a van thats a couple of years old.

If anyone has been in this situation before would love to know what you decided.

Cheers

John
It's common, usually best to get the engine hot and then try to pull the injector. Carbon jams them in but there are pullers available which I'd hope the garage have to make it easier.

Hi Zion,

Spoke further with the mechanic he is trying all sorts, I think I might just have to be patient lol, had a look at the new Berlingo though it looks really nice, might see what happens at the end of the year and I might treat myself to one, will probably keep my old one as well for the nasty jobs lol
