Mains powered tyre inflator - RocketVANman - 31-01-2013
Having struggled with various foot pumps/12v pumps/those chargable multi pump/jumper packs over the years, I've finally found something that is capable of doing the job.
With 3 sometimes 4 vehicles in the family it's a constant battle to maintain their tyre pressures.
I eventually bought a RING Automotive RAC750 230V Mains Powered Air Compressor. It's not perfect: The pressure gauge is about as useful as our current PM and you will struggle to pack the mains cable away. However it does come in a handy storage bag and does the job very well.
The valve is a bit tight at the moment but I'm sure it will loosen up. I use it in conjunction with the RACE X PROFESSIONAL TYRE PRESSURE GAUGE which is also superb. One van, one motorbike and a car all done in well under 10 minutes.
I don't work for Ring I'm just wanted something to get the job done quickly and efficiently.

300psi but there's redline between 200 and 300??

Ive actually managed to fit a tyre to a rim using a single barrel footpump (more luck than judgement and anyone else would have used tyre levers)
So this would possibly be suitable for such a job??

I presume you needs lots of air to put a rim on a tyre. I think it's marked that it can blow a tyre up in 2 minutes (i think that was the figure I saw).
It's pretty powerful I only had to use it in short burst. My bike tyres were the worst they needed over half a bar each and it didn't even break into a sweat.
I'll come back in a year and give a long term test.
They also do a megga 12v version that is capable of 4 x 4 tyres with ease apparently. Try the Ring RAC700 or RAC900 if you want more power but they're both 12V

I bought a compressor with a 50ltr receiver for £150 years ago which is big enough for spraying,applying waxoyl & all sorts of other mechanical mischief.It seemed a lot at the time but I'm glad I bought it.(I have even test run my brothers'steam locos prior to steaming)

With Ron on this one, bought similar off e-bay a few years back. Spray 150ft of fence panels every 2 or 3 years, tyre inflation, unblocking pipes on the pond filtration, powering spray equipment etc etc.... limited only by your own imagination...
