Thumping noise from front LHS?
#1
Morning all,
I have recently changed both my front bottom wishbone arms on my 2003 HDi mutlispace due to the ball joints being knacked, all went well quite, an easy job and this has cured the cracking noise.
Trouble is I can now hear a thumping noise when traveling over bumpy ground, coming from the front LHS, not very loud but don' think it will go away on its own.

What's the most probable cause just to give me a head start when I decide to investigate.

Many thanks rob.

Did you change the track rod ends? Thats what used to thump on mine. Decent ones from a motor factors are only 6 quid each. You'll probably find that the wishbones masked the 'other' fault, or you may find the track rod ends have become the next weakest link.

x3 they make them out cheese I'm sure, don't seem to last two years, very easy to replace and only about 6 quid each on ebay.

I have used droplinks from ebay before and like that they only lasted a short time...I usually get them from my local autofactor now.
Delphi make good quailty droplinks..:-)

I bought delphi drop links and rod ends not worth saving a couple quid buying cheese from fleabay. My local motor factors is pretty good price wise.

Mine from ebay and the rubber covers on em are already looking perished after less than 10k

Wheres the best price for the wishbones as the ball joint on these are looking very tired. Shame just the ball joints can't be replaced on there own

You can buy wishbones with bolt in balljoints. BUT a decent wishbone bushed up ready to go is only £25 new.

sent from a telephone that resembles a well known chocolate bar, dosen't taste like it though!
