6 weeks, 2500 miles, some thoughts

Blimey folks, no need to start a war Wink

When an arch grumpy old git like me can only find a partly obscured speedo to complain about I'd say that was pretty good.

Thanks for all your input Smile

The binnacle is quite deeply recessed into the dashboard which puts it in the shade most of the time.  The auto gear number is lit, as is the milometer so I can't see the logic of not having the speedo illuminated whenever the ignition is on.

I've grumbled about this before, have been to Specsavers, and discussed having it rewired by the main dealer - but it needs a different loom apparently and would invalidate the warranty.

That's my only moan though; otherwise it's excellent. And as I'm not a technician, I don't look at the tacho thingy.
I cant see the speedo either.  Its terrible and shouldve been dealt with by now.  Specsavsrs would rather i went elsdwhere. . .Of note, the B is heavier than the C4 picasso.  Might explainone or two tnings.  Im pleased wi my 92hp job, pulls a caravan right well

Yes, it's not the whole speedo just the right hand side. I find it's a problem over 60 rather than 90 though!

Not sure what the weight of the car has to do with it .........

I don't go above 60 anyway.  The mpg likes it, it makes no difference to journey time and it's much quieter than 70.

Raising the steering wheel or lowering the seat should make the obscuring less though.

Could be although I've not even noticed the steering wheel or pedals being offset!

Interestingly I saw a post from a German member where he was showing how he'd fitted a tablet to his car and you could clearly see the speedo next to the central console which I think means they use the same dash in both left hand and right hand drive cars and I bet the speedo can be seen easily in the left hand drive ones.

Can't completely  agree about journey times and speed though. Perhaps if you're doing smaller mileages you won't see much difference but if you're doing 4 or 5 hundred miles a day on motorways (as we recently did to Spain) there is a significant difference between 60 and 80.

Thanks. I don't drive the car that much so I'll have a look at it next time I'm driving.

It wouldn't worry me too much losing the rev counter as I never look it at anyway!

Driving at 60 is definitely better for fuel consumption. Off the motorway in France I'd see over 50 mpg according to the computer. Motorway speeds got it down to just over 40.

If you think that's the worst thing about the LHD to RHD conversion just wait until you need to get at the interior fuses ;-)

Good write up too. I think for what is a van it's very accomplished over distance - I've now done 50k in mine and find it incredibly comfortable for a long trip.

Just have a look at home and figure out the fuses (and a suitable pair of pliers) before you go on a big trip. Oh and buy a 30amp spare for the fag lighter as for some reason Citroen don't include one in the spares.

Wouldn't want you dismantling the dashboard in an Italian service station when the cigarette lighter fuse blows, your satnav can't get any power, and you realise the relevant fuse is tucked impossibly round the corner from the bit your supposed to get your hand through. (Don't ask...)

I think the included fuse removal tool is there as some kind of sick joke...

I've got better at it now...

I have a box of fuses in the car and a pair of long nosed pliers but it's a sensible suggestion to check where everything is located before leaving home!
