Today's trip oop North...to t' Midlands!
#1
I don't know whether or not these figures are typical so I'll try to give as much info. as possible.
Drove from Aylesford to Leicester and back this morning.
Total trip was 288 miles. (463.5 km)
Fuel in tank was approx 50% Sainsbury diesel and the rest was
the very expensive (£1.47/l  ) Shell V-Power. Also in the tank was the specified quantity of
Miller Diesel Power Ecomax fuel additive.
The average speed was 53.5 mph. The maximum speed was 78.5 mph.
The calculated mpg was 60.5.
Route taken M20>M25>M1>A563>A47.
The engine was very smooth and seemed quieter than it has done with just plain vanilla diesel.
The Miller additive boosts the Cetane rating up by 3 to 4 points and I have to say that
it seemed as if it was pulling better at low rpm....32mph in 5th. was OK.

Cough, splutter. 'Oop North'? LEICESTER? Its virtually a suburb of London! Sometimes I have the misfortune to have to go Darn sarf to Preston or Warrington. Wink
Pretty good mileage mind. I used to get that kind of mileage in a ZX. But the Mk3 Berlingo doesn't get close.

Did you notice if it was better going up or down? Of course, its all downhill to London. Tongue

Nah!! I left home at 0600 and got back at 1150!:hehe:

OK guys! I know it's not that far north. I have been all the way to the top of the mainland and camped at Balnakiel, Durness on a motorcycle tour of Scotland some years back! Over 2000 miles in 14 days.

Couldn't stomach £1.47??? What weak stomachs you lot down south have! Wink

It's £1.51 where I am in the real North, and I'm pretty sure that it's even more expensive in Durness.
