Unable to bleed brakes after changing rear axle.

Hi,new to forum. Have just got rear axle repaired 2006 1.6HDI van, ABS,but now can't get brakes to bleed. engine off pedal is hard, but engine running pedal goes very soft and stop and brake warning lamps flashing. Any "how to's" out there?

You can bleed manually but it's hard on the leg muscles & slow.With the aid of an assistant,open nipple,pump pedal,close nipple,lift pedal & repeat.If you have a pressure bleeder so much the better.Good luck.

Probally air in the rear brake pipes ,
With ABS a pressure bleeding kit should be used.
Switch OFF ignition as you can knacker the brake hydraulic modulator if its activated while being bled. (pressing the pedal with ignition on.) :censored::censored::censored:

Sorted at last. Took the advice and bought a Gunson easi-bleed kit, worked first time! Thanks for the quick response and advice.
