Following on from stueight's last post, I'm glad to note it has improved things. Mine has almost completely disappeared. It now only wobbles a little under strong acceleration. This is where I need your advice. I have today tried to replace the right hand mount (the one on the driver's side) I removed the throttle bracket (2 bolts) then the large hex rubber headed nut, then the nut on the upper end of the mount. I then tried removing the upper bracket, starting with the 2 T45 bolts (engine jacked up). I could not get the bracket to release, suggesting it is fixed elsewhere. Haynes is not much use. Advice from anyone appreciated. Another problem I foresee - is there a nut on the bottom end of the mount? If so, how is it accessed?

Hi, I have this issue, or one that seems very like it, an interrmittant wobble vibration through the car. Feeling a little like a missfire or engine mounts. I spoke to my trusted mechanic who tells me that there is a known problem with the new style 'duo mass' flywheels ( I think I have the name right). Apparently they have two plates separated by a waxy substance. The two halves can slip a little and get out of balance so causing that wobble. It is often confused with misfire or mountings. If it is not very pronounced he says it can be left as is, but obviously will put more wear on th mounts. It is very expensive to fix though! He gave a warning that some people have been tempted to put in a solid flywheel resulting in broken crankshafts! So avoid this at all costs!
I hope this isnt your problem but I wanted to pass on the information and invite comments from others who may have experience of this.
Oh maybe this only applies to the hdi engines, I dont know.

I'm new here too so please be gentle!
My last car had a similar problem and it turned out it was the bearings that connected drive shaft to gearbox. When it was on the ramp you could grab hold of the drive shaft and there was a LOT of play in the bearings.
