I don't think that a defective fuel stop would cause this tbh. Another quick thought - how hard is it to get the clocks out a berlingo? Could you check if the bulb has failed and it's a failsafe to de-activate the glowstart system in that situation? I've heard of similar with alternator warning lights that's all.
regards the rest; I will see what I can figure out from teh diagrams and get back to you

I dont think its the dash light infact I m fairly certain. When the flickering occurred first time, my friend could hear corresponding clicking from near side inner wing. I thought it was the pre heat relay but it could have been the relay situated on the bulk head (below and behind harness multi plug). Incidentally, when I turn the ignition key to illuminate the instruments on the dash (which would normally light the glow plug light) and then turn it off, this relay clicks about 3 or 4 seconds after the ignition is turned off like its on some sort of delay. Knowing little about berlingos I dont know if this is normal. The vehicles never been hooked up to a diagnostics yet so maybe this might throw something up tomorrow - if I can get the van pushed out from the cottage so the mechanics can winch it onto their recovery trailer. We got a narrow driveway 70 yds from the village road.

Thinking aloud here, I have a Berlingo which is yet to experience this problem.
Do I:
1. Carry out some preventative maintenance, remove the plug, spray with WD40 and re-fit
-or-
2. Leave well alone and hope it never fails?
Thoughts..?
