How do I remove the drivers side inner door panel ?
#1
Question
Hi

I have a 2000 1.9D van and I need to replace the drivers side lock which I have already obtained on eBay. How do I remove the inner panel to get to the lock and do I need any special tooling to carry out the job.

Thanks

Bigted

Haynes described this procedure in it's book.

As i just done that i´d like to add that using a forked tool to remove the plastic clips is essential to not damage these or the panel itself. You can easely fabricate one out of hard plastic or buy one at the part shop.

Brilliant ! Now, can you do something similar (greeeedy !) about removing repairing & replacing the electric window mechanism? I have an LHD 2000 19 diesel van, the inoperative window is the passenger side which would be the driver's side in the UK. I has the electric side mirror adjuster.
I can only stay online for another 30 minutes, by the way.Sorry, life's a bit complicated at the mo' !

Well you see it's like this:

Your best bet is, in a new thread, to ask Rustcrats or Addo if they have the information that you require. HTH

The door panel is an easy one IMO; tends to come away with no clips breaking (nice). With a modelling knife, carefully "split" the adhesive bead holding on the liner panel. Be patient; a new one is £35.

The window regulator - well, you drop the glass far as it will go, remove the inner beltline moulding then pull out the glass run channel starting from the front edge. Now the glass is all rattly in the opening; if the plastic clips are not disengaged this is next, then you angle the glass nose down and lift it out. Regulator then unbolts.

YouTube has videos on repair of the regs, using the Turkish sourced kits. Try searching videos with the keywords "Berlingo leve vitre"...
