EASY WAY TO TEST THE FUEL CAP SWITCH in 2 MINS......
This may have been mentioned before but if not here goes...
To save having to take the car apart to test the fuel cap switch with a meter etc you can do the following:
To make it even easier get hold of your spare car key.
1 - Open the fuel flap and remove the fuel cap and put it aside with the key left in it.
2 - Close the fuel flap and with your spare car key get in the car and start the engine.
3 - The MFD will then display a warning that the fuel cap is not present if the reed switch is working.
4 - Turn car off, replace fuel cap and start car again, should have no message on MFD.
