Fitting aftermarket CD Player 2010 Berlingo Van
#1
Hello everyone

Not sure if any one can help but after having a look on google i still have no answer to my question.

Im looking at fitting a new Kenwood CD player to my 2010 Berlingo van and im unsure what leads i will require. Does it come with a standard ISO connector so i can just remove the old unit and replace with the new one? I know i will require a lead if i wish to use the stalk control but have no idea what one i need. Looking on google i could fint the Autoleads lead that was for berlingos up to 2006. Have any of you had experience with this before and can ofeer me some advice.

Many Thanks

Don

Hello Don

You should be able to just plug in the replacement head unit, but may have to swap over the interchangeable wires on the unit to retain a permanent live feed to it.

There are a good few past threads on here with info about fitting new units if you search under radio.

In one of them I also put a link on to a ebay lead that allows you to used the steering stick and there are one or two others with similar links too.

Have a look and if you can't find what you need, I'll see if I can trace it.

I have a look through and I see what you mean about swapping the power wires, is this still required on the 2010 model as the others that I read are from the mk2 berlingos
Thanks Don

I don't know. IT's a case of try it from the box and see if it works how it should and retains your settings after locking the car and returning to it.

If it does anything it shouldn't switch the wires. It is easy to do as they are interchangable with clips that pull apart and you just swap them over. Takes 2 minutes.

I've got a Kenwood in mine with the Kenwood to Citroën wiring adapter with stalk interface 2006 onwards (£45) and patch lead (£5) from car audio centre, Nottingham. 'connects2' brand. Both have to be the same brand to be compatible.
You can't swap the two power leads round or it won't work.

Sorry to bump an old thread...

I've just got myself a 2009 Berlingo B9 1.6 diesel.

It's got what I would call a standard MP3/CD head unit in it.

I have a Kenwood Bluetooth head unit that I'd like to install (from my old car), so I can use my phone hands free.

The one thing I'd like to be able to is to be able to use the steering wheel stalk remote to continue changing volume etc.

And here's what I want to fit, but still be able to use the stalk.

What do I need?

Thanks, but that's just a link to a double Din head unit. :S

I thinkyou would need a fascia adapter and an ISO wiring adaptor.

Beware though, back in the day I tried to swap out the citroen tape deck in my then brand new MK2 and the 'proper' adapter supplied by Blue Spot for my Blaupunkt zapped the vans electrics.
THe dash was ablaze with doom warnings
A panic and a cold sweat was all it took to fix but it was a cautionary tale.
The citroen one isnt that bad after all........
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top
