A meet in Kent? {A Success!}
#1
Chris and I were talking about meeting up one day and chatting over a pint.
He has suggested that this may be an opportunity for a little meet. The first forum meet apparently!:woop:
The week-end being discussed is the 13th. & 14th. of August and it will give those attending the chance to swap knowledge about their rides,
and get to know each other. It's always good to put a face to a forum name.
The venue will likely be a decent pub (real ale  ) with a good sized car park in Mid-Kent.
Anyone interested? If so which day is best for you?
If loads of folk are interested I'll put up a poll for the day which would be best for most.

Count us in!
Tracey will have to do the driving so that I can enjoy some real Kentish ale!!!
We are happy for it to be either the Saturday or Sunday - mid Kent, I assume Maidstoneish is easy for us to get to from mid Essex.
Looking forward to meeting fellow Berlingists.
Bonne route,

Sunday 14th would be best for me. Maidstoneish sounds good.

Where are all you Berlingoists from London, the South East and East Anglia?
I suppose a small gathering is going to be worth it especially if the beer is good!
Sunday 14th has already been marked on the calendar.
Lets hope a few more show their interest though.

Looks like Sunday the 14th. August is the day to keep free!

I have a few ideas with respect to a venue but if anyone has any preferences.....a pub that does Sunday lunch for instance, please
shout!!

We're still on for Sunday the 14th.
A pub which does lunch and looks after real ale sounds good.

OK!! It's going to be a cosy meet then with the three of us!

Initially for a venue I would suggest the Malta Inn just outside Maidstone. It's a Beefeater Inn which is not too clever but at least you know what you're going to get and it won't be too expensive.
It's a picturesque place opposite Allington locks on the river Medway. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl=e...EQnwIoADAD

It opens for lunch at midday on Sundays and you can sit by the river and enjoy a beer (or two!)

Oh and Seaman if you want a really good drop of ale, the Malta is only two minutes away from my favourite real ale pub that normally keeps NINE ales on the pumps!!
But as an initial meeting place the Malta is easy to find and has a huge car park.

I should be there next Sunday. I'll check back to see if venue is confirmed as I'm away at the mo.

Malta inn sounds like a good bet, and I will be there.

I am still trying to convince Mrs C. to come along, and that an afternoon in the company of Berlingoists, followed by driving her beer-soaked beloved home, is a cracking proposition.
