[Transmission] gearbox might be on its way out?
#1
Question
got a bit of a problem changing gear when the engine is cold.

gears can be a bit crunchy or notchy, sometimes hard to get it back into neutral. I tried 5th to reverse while stationary at a set of lights tonight while trying to work out what was wrong and it got stuck between 5th and reverse, but it wasn't neutral.

it's usually ok once the van is up to temperature.

so do I need to change the gearbox oil, or replace the gearbox?

clutch still feels ok but I can try and induce some slippage tomorrow if anyone thinks the clutch may be at fault.

thanks.
