(You need to remove both the spare wheel and the muffler)
I finally got time to do the deed today, and yeah, on the first pull, it was hard to pull, but the return was light and 'springy'. A few full pulls and compressions later, though, and they were firm both ways.

Yeah, I'm almost in shock...
Now, the old shocks were mounted with the 'fat end' down and towards the front, and the thin end up and to the rear. Is there a reson for that? And is that still valid for my oil-filled shocks?
Top tip for working on the rear end; Use a garage jack to lift the spare wheel and carrier frame up into position. Much easier than to struggle and attempt to get it into place with your hands.
So is it sorted or is it still bouncy ?
