Have you checked the fuse in the fuse box under the dash to the right of the steering wheel?

First time I fitted my aftermarket stereo I blew that fuse somehow.

I havent checked but then there wouldnt be any power coming out of the wire for me to test on the voltmeter no? there is power there according to my meter

its ok now guys, thanks for all your help but I decided not to stress myself out any further and get my mate to sort it out, not sure he even knew why it didnt work but he managed to suss it out and is all working fine now
