Surely they should last longer than that especially as the component is presumably identical to those used on the previous Berlingos and therefore designed for a commercial vehicle. To me it points to a design or manufacturing fault of the component. This appears to be creaping into the overall design of the Mk 3 if you add all the reported problems up; eg; strut top mountings, radiator mountings, drop links, rear end dump steer, poor rear tyre wear etc.I like the Berlingo Multispace, it does just what I want and need, but if these kinds of problem start to occur, when I come to replace it in three years or so I will certainly look elswhere.
It's now done about 67,000, if you look at my previous posts :Uneven Tyre Wear, you will see that problems started at 22,000+ miles, along with a lot of others that you can read about on this Forum.
Strongly suspect that Citroen replaced a lot of Suspension related parts when they took it away for repair under Warranty although I got no paper work to say what they did to it, nor could I find out as Citroen took it away from the Dealers to repair.
Looks like it's all as you say BP, just down a bad design and/or modification of the Chassis and/or poor quality/faulty parts/quality control.
Despite all the aggro I like my Berlingo and intend to keep it!
On a slightly different note, have done nearly 14.000 miles on my Winter Tyres (remoulds), all have worn down evenly, rear ones still still got loads of tread left, front still got 5mm on em! (like Tyres used to)
Anybody have any ideas why all the other (well Known brands) of Tyres I have had fitted all wore down (front and rear) at the same ratecratch:
