ANOTHER RATTLE

Surely they should last longer than that especially as the component is presumably identical to those used on the previous Berlingos and therefore designed for a commercial vehicle. To me it points to a design or manufacturing fault of the component. This appears to be creaping into the overall design of the Mk 3 if you add all the reported problems up; eg; strut top mountings, radiator mountings, drop links, rear end dump steer, poor rear tyre wear etc.I like the Berlingo Multispace, it does just what I want and need, but if these kinds of problem start to occur, when I come to replace it in three years or so I will certainly look elswhere.

It's now done about 67,000, if you look at my previous posts :Uneven Tyre Wear, you will see that problems started at 22,000+ miles, along with a lot of others that you can read about on this Forum.

Strongly suspect that Citroen replaced a lot of Suspension related parts when they took it away for repair under Warranty although I got no paper work to say what they did to it, nor could I find out as Citroen took it away from the Dealers to repair.

Looks like it's all as you say BP, just down a bad design and/or modification of the Chassis and/or poor quality/faulty parts/quality control.
Despite all the aggro I like my Berlingo and intend to keep it!

On a slightly different note, have done nearly 14.000 miles on my Winter Tyres (remoulds), all have worn down evenly, rear ones still still got loads of tread left, front still got 5mm on em! (like Tyres used to)

Anybody have any ideas why all the other (well Known brands) of Tyres I have had fitted all wore down (front and rear) at the same rateConfusedcratch:

when i had similar discussions with many major trye manufacturers and fitting companies several years ago about my VW T4 17" tyres wearing out at 5-6k , Speaking on behalf of a very large VW community, I was told by all that today tyres are a much softer compound as "we" the motorist want quieter tyres, we want smoother tyres [to run on] we want lower profile tyres to look good, yet we want good road handling qualities.....and they said its all a compromise, tyres are not made of same compounds as they were years ago.
HENCE we get tyres that wear out quicker. When my present set wear out I will be buying tyres with a high side wall, yes they will be noisy, yes they will be less sporty looking, but from experience fitting them to my campers I will get better mileage from them. If you have a few days to spare phone Michelin, Pirelli, Goodyear and ask for technical support. See what they say?

Had a Honda 900FA years ago that did 3,000 Miles per rear Tyre and 5,000 from the front. (Metzlers)

Asked if they still made Town and Country Tyres last time I was in Tyre Fitters, all I got was a lot of head shaking and blank looks.
No one had ever heard of em before!

Thinking of trying All Season Tyres next, I don't mind extra road noise either, wonder if Brake Pad Wear will increase much?
