Pity there seem to be quite a few gripes about the MK3. Some of them may be down to expectations that don't materialise, but it sounds like Citroen haven't got it spot on in some respects either. Maybe there will be a MK3A before long with all the niggles ironed out?
We've only had our MK2 for just over a year and love it. Manufacturers normally manage to improve things between one MK and another, so the comments on the forum (not just this thread) will make us look long and hard if and when we do want to change, as we assumed initially that the MK3 would be the logical next move. At the moment the MK2 does all we want, but no doubt the day will come.
While we were at the dealers a couple of months ago a long-time ex-Berlingo owner had gone for a C4 Picasso, and reckoned it was kind of a Berlingo with the van bit removed - i.e. more comfortable and saloon-like to drive, but still with a good dose of practicality. This won't attract those who value or need the utility attributes of the Berlingo of course.

Controversal , but fair comment Philip !!! Lol. Anyway,if we all liked the same things in cars we would most probably be driving the same car, how dull would that be ?.*

My first car was a 1929 Austin Ruby. Starting it required getting the advance/retard and choke at just the right points, and someone to pump the pedal as I swung the starting handle.
No heater, no indicators or brake lights (hence window open all the time for hand signals). No radio. No seat belts. Tyres punctured about every 100 miles. Used water and oil by the gallon. Door fell off once.
Bad weather you folded the windscreen down and did without, so that you could see where you were going. Cable brakes which didn't work going downhill.
Compared to that, I think my Berlingo is a beautiful, comfortable, practical, warm, fun vehicle.

There`s nowhere to place a flask (or cup of coffee for that matter) except that boxy thin between the front seats, if fitted.
Seat belts are (like all Citroens) awkward to put on.
Gearbox is a bit clunky
Diesel is noisy `till warmed up.
Front seats OK but inferior to the Doblo.
Windows don`t let in much light. They`re actually small.
Interior is too sober. Funereal even.
Everything else is . . . . wonderful! I`ll be getting another. . . .
Don't agree with most of these, but my comments are as below.
Storage places are great, can use the glovebox door for holding cups (it has 2), seat belts fine. Disagree with all the rest, apart from the last one, I would have another like a shot
Now an ex Berlingo owner, I have a C4

So Philip, you are totally happy about every aspect of yours then? Some things do not become apparent until you have driven a vehicle for some time. I bought mine based on my experience with 2 Mk2's in the past but I think that Citroen have tried a little to much to make it main stream and gone amiss somewhere. Niggly things like the useless rear pocket in the front door of the XTR and the pointless glove box point to a certain lack of development. The shelf on the top of the passenger dashboard that ejects anything when going around a bend also shows lack of design and you shouldnt have to do the manufacturers job for them by putting a non slip cover on it even taking price into account. Dont get me totally wrong, I still like it but not as much in some ways as the Mk2.

The gap at the back edge of carpet in the rear....when a pound coin gets dropped, 90% of the time it disappears into the void beneath, damn !!! Cannot get them out !!!!!

I know if I look for a better replacement, I`ll not find one. I tried to find a replacement for my Punto some time ago, and I weas struggling. But the C3 sufficed, Berlingo`s good but could be better. IMNSHO lol

Don't have a Mk3, but...
If all people have to complain about is storage compartments and the glovebox (mainly), then I will have one tomorrow. If I could afford one. Which I can't. illyme:
I am sure ALL cars have niggling little faults.
Bet people on the Bentley or Maybach Forums have their own problems?
It could be worse, you could be living in America and having to drive a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade, or Dodge Avenger! Now they are SERIOUSLY bad cars. So bad, they have won awards, for being bad.
Think I will stick to living in the UK, driving a French van, that is built in Spain.
I'm off to drink my Belgian lager, which is brewed in Preston.
