[Engine] P1109 CODE

HI ALL NEW TO FORUM NEED HELP PLEASE,CITROEN BERLINGO 56 PLATE 1868CC,HAD VAN PLUGGED IN TODAY AT GARAGE & CAME UP WITH FAULT CODE P1109 (RELAY COOLING VENT) CHECKED ON FORUMS SAYING" AIR INTAKE TEMERATURE SENSOR" CAN ANY ONE TELL ME DOES THIS SOUND CORRECT IF SO WHERE IS THE SENSOR LOCATED. (DW8 WJY ENGINE)
ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT IS ON,IF I REV IT TO 3500 RPM THE LIGHT GOES OUT,THEN IF I PUT IT BACK TO TICK OVER,AFTER ABOUT 10 SEC"S THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON & THERE IS A BEEP FROM THE DASH BOARD AREA.IF THE MAF SENSOR IS REPLACED DOES THE CODE NEED ERASING FOR THE NEW MAF SENSOR TO WORK ??? ANY ADVISE PLEASE !!

this is where the air intake sensor is located... next to the MAF just after air filter, you can see it poking down in the photo. Not sure on the code though, or if it is related to the sensor itself.

hi thanks for that,so does that mean the sensor is actually part of the maff then ?:eek:

No, is a separate part I think. Is under the grey connector in the photo, have to disconnect the connector and then prise apart the square bit where the sensor plugs in. May just be dirty? Check the contacts..

have checked today & it is part of the maf sensor,i have replace it with a new one but the engine management light is still on,does the stored code need to be erased for the system to (in a word) re-boot & the new maf to work ?:S
