Can someone help me out? Why is this set up possible in a forte and not a desire? anyone got any urls that might help me understand?

Because of the lack of headroom due to the internal roof storage, you wouldn't be able to sit up in it, I suppose you could still be able to use it as a bed

There was a home made version on here a while ago which would have been good in plan form if the builder made a pdf of it.

Some of the German conversions just focus on the bed. Sensible approach as you could mount it higher that way and fit more storage underneath.
