Same output for door speakers and tweeters?
#11
I don't know the technicalities of this mate, but ddt-s30 alpine tweeters are what I have (05 'lingo) and they are sweet as a nut, you have to play with the EQ to get your proper settings, but they've never failed me (don't forget to wire in the crossover though!)
If it aint broke don't fix it... if it is broke, who gives a rats ass?

If you had components they would still be set up to the front and you would also have the added pain of hiding the crossover box somewhere. I have fusion tweeters in mine which already block out the unnecessary frequencies

I put my crossover right next to the tweet under the grill.. there's loads of room?

How big are your crossovers, i used to have an alpine setup in an older car and the crossovers were about 8 inch by 4 inch and the supply from stereo went to the crossover then two feeds came out of it and one went to speaker then one went to tweeters. This was about 5 year ago now and things have probably changed and got a lot smaller

I had a set years ago that were very basic low & high & they were only about 2ins square & could well believe that you could get a set under where the tweeters sit.

That said though, I don't think the crossovers I had needed a power feed or anything, so it could just have been a box with a couple of those capacitors in.

waue1978 - Mine might be the same as that - they are tiny boxes, no more than 2inches square.

Thanks jstar!

I just bought the same tweeters as you, from an auction website for under £30! Pretty happy with that because them being Alpine, they are perfectly suited to all my other equipment. They are coming from Malaysia though, so I might not have them for a month!

These DDT-S30s come with crossovers, if I install them as per instructions (that are hopefully included in the box), I should not need to add any other components will I? ie resistors etc. The crossover does this job, right?

Now I've just got to work out why the head unit doesn't turn off with ignition, why it turns on when I open the door and why it's resetting every time I switch the blighter off, all my levels etc are erased :justno:

Cheers all!

Swap over red and yellow wires and it will save memory, it will stuck come on when door opens though buy if you take off security panel when not in use it shouldn't matter, that's what I do anyway but you can wire it in so that it doesn't run through the BSI, if you do a search I think it comes up on here and tells you more info about it

Rogalicious, I didn't put anything more in than what came in the box (except you have to get the connectors for the leads, you can buy these at maplins/halfords/anywhere)

Personally I like that the music comes on without the ignition... Always surprises friends and I pass it off as a mod Wink
