[Engine] Cam belt snapped on turn over!!
#1
Hey all
The cam belt has gone on my 2000 1.9 multispace , it went while I was turning it over on jump leads. Is this better than if it was running on the road or is it all still a lottery as to the damage or might it be kinda ok. It's going to the pug shop in lye either way but just wondered if any info could soften the blow.
Cheers

It doesn't make a lot of difference whether the engine is running or not in my experience with the 1.9. Had a ZX snap at high speed, and had a Xantia snap ticking over in the drive. Both had bent valves and snapped camshafts.
