Bonjour
#1
Hi all.
Just say hi as i have joined the club today. I have owned a 1999 Berlingo van for 2 years and last week I bought a 2005 HDI Desire with 57k on the clock. I live in France and I have imported both vehicles onto the French system. When I drove off the Ferry on Monday I got a STOP warning with the brake warning lamp this cleared after about 10 mins but it is still comming on. I have checked brake fluid and signs of fluid on the drums, but all seems OK. It is booked in for a service so hopeful all will be well. I hope I don't have to ask too many questions but it's nice to have someone to ask if a problem occurs.

Hi there! I guess you buy in the UK due to high secondhand car prices in France. I wonder why they are so expensive? I notice even on carboot type sales in France sellers want 3€ for what would be 50p in the UK.

Absolutely correct I have bought my 2005 Desire HDI for 4K in Uk with 54000 on the clock. Over here it would be in the region of 9k euros. It's the same with spares. I buy all mine from Ebay Germany at more than half the price I can pay here and I have a good garage that will fit the difficult stuff.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
