[Engine] 1.6 16V (2005) won't start. Throttle body?
#11
The TB motor is not a stepper motor. It only got two pins and opens the valve fully with applied voltage. The motor axle got a pinion which rotates a large gear connected to the valve axle. The valve is spring loaded so it closes after removing the voltage.

I'm asking around if I can borrow a Lexia locally.

Hmm, then I made i mistake. I see 6 wires here :

I was thinking 4 for motor and 2 for sensor...

Pins 1&2 are for the motor. The rest are for the position sensor (potentiometer). I should have taken a picture when I had it open.
I'll call and ask if a used throttle body can be returned if the fault is elsewhere. There is one for sale in Finland.
If not I'll buy the Lexia.

Before ordering a new one I would try this. Disconnect pin 1&2 from motor. Connect 12V 10W bulb on pin 1&2. Open throttle flap half way
try to start the engine. Also try fully open flap. Or try to move flap by fingers while starting engine.

Can you / Did you clean potentiometar trays ?

On brushed motors graphite brushes tend to wear out. You can see it by looking at the graphite brushes, they tend to have slope at one
side. It is almost impossible to change only the bushes. You can prolong motor life for a period of time if you sand the end of the graphite
to make it square again. Also, sand motor collector. Lube with WD40.

So I borrowed a laptop and the Lexia cable.
I connected the cable and came to the phase where I need to enter the RPO code.
So lets look at the code:

The code is not:
10526
16526
16528
16529
18520
18529
18629
After a wrong code the fastest way to enter a new one is to reboot the laptop and restart the program.

Is the code available anywhere else?

I checked the code with RPO decoder. It looks like the code have to begin with 10... to get the correct manufacturing date.
So the code is probably 10x2x. Do I need to enter five or four numbers (0x2x) to the Diagbox SW?

If I don't know RPO I always use "11111", It works all the time, Try it and report back....

I got it working. The cable had to be disconnected and reconnected before choosing Lexia in the SW. Rpo code did not matter.

Where do I find the readings from the throttle valve position sensor?

You can fin it under general scan -> engine ecu -> parametars
Check this youtube:

Edit: Forgot to mention. Also go to Actuator tests and find TB test...
