There are 2 ways to tell, with one being certain, that's to look at the exhaust in front of the engine to see if there are sensors before & after the big can, the other way being to look on catcar with your vin entered.

Hi cancunia,

I done some investigation work today and it most certainly doesn't have the DPF on my model.

i think the 75hp model is an economy mapped 90hp, so praps it passed euro5 and does,nt need a dpf ?

Well, that's some good news! I think you need a code reader before going much further partly so you can see the OBD trouble (DTC) codes, but also take a look at the various live readings for boost & fuel pressure etc. They're cheap & the basic Torque app is free.

If the Ecu does not see enough fuel pressure at the rail sensor, it will not turn the injectors on !.
You may have inadvertently caused an issue by removing them all, it only takes one to loose pressure & it won’t start .
We have sometimes had to tow them to start when carrying out injector work, this is not entirely professional as you cannot listen to the engine properly or observe what’s happening on the end of a rope.
You can sometimes get them to fire by using brake cleaner into the intake or easy start. This causes the engine to run without using the injectors, & the higher speed of the diesel pump I.e. 900rpm (engine running) is better tan 300rpm on the starter motor.
Usually once the engine has run for a few moments & cleared any air leaks/sticky injectors, it will start as normally .
Hope this helps .

Hi Lighty and thanks for the reply!

I've now managed to get it running but its now pinking which it didn't do before I replaced the injector seals Confused Its also still very black soot smokey and appears to be misfiring occasionally on pick up. I've had a few people say its an EGR problem and it was previously showing anti pollution fault on the display which has now vanished Huh  I've had it looked at by my local garage and he has said its the DPF that needs replaced.

How did you get it running in the end? I'm having the same problem. New injector seals and fuel filter and now it's just turning and turning

Jmick hasn't been on the forum for 5 years mate, and sadly Lighty passed away a couple of years ago now.

I think the answer is getting any air out of an injector if you disturbed them. Only one needs to have air in it to cause a no-start. Don't try and crack one open to bleed it, as the pressure from the pump is dangerous even at idle.
