Heater direction dial seised

Hi all,
New to the forum,
Just bought a 2006 1.4 petrol berlingo, and there were a few niggles that need sorting.
The last 2 issues are to do with the vent controller dial which is stuck and moves less than a quarter turn. Had a quick look and both wire cables behind are still connected to the unit, can anyone tell me if it is likely to be the actual dial mechanism or do I need to delve deeper under the dash?
The second issue I have is the poor radio connection, I've replaced the antenna mount and cleaned the surface rust from all connections. it does look like water has ran through the cable as the connector on the radio had rusted.
Don't have a manual yet, any help, advice much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
Not sure about the heater or radio, but there is a Haynes Workshop Manual on here somewhere. If you can't find it after a search around, post a new question and I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Have just sorted a stiff heater controll on my Berlingo . Was a combination of stiff/worn shaft on the actual flap valve + also the control unit was stiff in operation . The control unit has exposed plastic gears on the back where the 
control cables attach to. Lubrication of these parts with a silicon spray freed it up like new . 
  I removed the control unit + disconnected the cables to do this .To remove the control unit requires the removal of
some fragile plastic facia panels so care is needed , these parts are multi function display surround(prise off)Centre switch panel (prise  off) Remove the radio unit,remove 4x torx screws from the centre facia panel ,prise off this centre panel.Now remove 2x torx screws from the heater control unit,under the unit is a central location lug lever this whith a screwdriver and push the control unit into the space behind it .Remove the cables from the unit the spring clips holding these on can fly off if your not carefull.disconnect the electrical plugs and remove the unit from the car (its a tight squeeze).     I also sprayed some lube into the cables the best I could .

Yes, thanks for the how-to guide. I can't get my dial to go all the way to windscreen but was just living with it as I thought it would be a complete dash removal job.
