Hi,
You're looking for a 'W5W' also known as a '501' wedge fitting.
For once, a really easy job. Just pop the round black rubber cover off the back of the headlamp and you'll see the thin wires going to the bulb holder. Don't be scared to pull these wires (gently) and out comes the holder & bulb. Just pushes back in with your fingertip. Look through the front of the headlamp glass while you're refitting and you're sorted.
I tried LEDs in mine and wasn't too struck. Remember, LEDs have a right way and a wrong way, so if they don't light, swap the LED base around by 180 degrees (effectively swapping over the right & left connections).
Good luck!
