Multi Function Display

MPG display needs info re distance, speed and fuel flow. It is entirely likely that all three of these functions are handled by the ECU and therefore quite possible the ECUs fitted to our vehicles don't have this info. If that is the case then even if we get the correct display and, as Rustcrat says, the data is handled by comms, it still might not work as no data is available from the ECU.

The BSI has speed and fuel flow data, and must have distance info to operate the odometer.
