Tried to post "SOLD" on my for sale thread and was told the post was too short

It's common on some systems to have a minimum number of characters rule.
Not certain if it's to stop all those 'First!' posts that the little twerps seems to like, or to stop 1337 posts, which are also supposed to be short. (They're not all that much shorter, really)
It also cuts down on 'me too' and '+1' and posts with just a smiley in it.
A good rule when it comes to threads about selling is to update the title of the first post, and just add [Sold] at the beginning.
And if there's more than one item for sale, to edit the first post with what has been sold and what is still available.

I understand the reason however most forums restrict posts 3 digits or less

Not a big thing to write "This item is now sold" though and ask for the thread to be closed.
So where does this bit go then ?
