In the current political climate I would suggest that Corbin Pliers are better than Cameron Pliers......

Those spring clips are used for cheapness and uniform tension
Thanks Col,...I dont seem to be able to get the Corbin pliers localy as I checked online last night, but will call into Machine mart later to see if they have the set with the extension cable on...the part is in a very confined and awkward place...I think I will get a jubilee aswell just in case I cant get the spring clip back on..failing that it will be the jubilee and I will tighten it just enough to form a seal then run the engine to check for leaks and act accordingly...why on earth are these things put in such inaccesable places...Oh I know...so the garage can make a few bob off you..ha ha...Cheers Col,
Steve

These clips were put in place before the engine was installed in the car, so no issues about reach, then.
These clips doesn't fail horribly like Jubilee clips do when you overtighten them, either. And they're much quicker to install.
The fact that they're a pain in the ... for the home mechanic is a completely different issue...

To be honest I didnt find it too bad...I couldnt get hold of the Corbin pliers when I wanted them so I used a pair of long nosed slim Molegrips clamped onto the clip..once I had pulled the blanking hose down to its limit (working from under the van) I managed to feed the clip and grips up..placed it into position and pulled until it was seated sufficient to hold itself in place...then with a small block of wood I pulled down evenly till the clip was well seated...released the grips and tested it...no leak...went for a short run to get up to temp..checked again..job done...but wouldnt want to do it again in a hurry...it was raining...ha ha
