Electronic dipstick
#1
Where is the sensor for the electronic dipstick?
How does it work?
Mine has been working fine up till last few days. It is now saying 'min' when the physical dipstick is saying 'full'.
Know which method I believe (the wet oily bit, not the flashing light bit).

I just thought they didn't work properly, mine has never been right, just find it easier to check manually.
Now an ex Berlingo owner, I have a C4

It was reading half full last week and minimum today (row of dashes, flashing), both times the 'real' oil on the 'real' dipstick was on the max line.
Just seems strange that it has worked perfectly till last week.

Hi, the previous picture should match your engine (DV6B).
Here's the wiring diagram.
The level works on resistance so check your connections to the probe.
A simple unplug/plug of connectors a couple of times usually does the trick. (the lower the resistance the more oil).

Let us know if this solves it.

Excellent reply, and pictures too.
Makes sense that it works on resistance.Confusedillyme: All become clear.
Will play with the connection and mark as 'solved'.
Thank you Rustscrat.
