#1
Hi, I'm soon going to give my 2016 BlueHDI multispace a service, I have the oil and filter, but not sure what sump plug I will need to replace the existing, any ideas?

Thanks

Or if you don't have a new washer due to not knowing the correct size (M10?) you can re-use the old one with a little silicone instant gasket. If possible anneal the old washer over a gas flame until cherry red, quench it in water to get most of the crud off, then a light wire brush.

Thanks, yes I wasn't sure on the size of plug/washer I'd need and thought for the sake of a couple of £s I'd just get new ones.  M10 has pointed me in the right direction, that seems to be it.

Other than when undertaking a full engine or gearbox rebuild where I've had a full gasket etc kit I've never changed a sump washer let alone annealed one ...... leak what leak !

edit : ^^^ 50 years of such leak free activity  Heart

Smile Although I can only claim 40 years of leak free activity, I still like to be sure so normally apply a bit of belt n braces as it's a bit embarrassing to have to take a drain plug out when you've just put in fresh oil.
It's difficult to anneal plastic washers as fitted to another engine I have & I always forget to buy new ones, so a bit of instant gasket has never hurt.

I think it's on a 1995 Ducati engine, now sold. But I'm sure I've seen others in the past too.

It’s definitely a good idea to change the washer on your sump plug, the Blue hid engine uses 0/30 oil, which is very thin & finds the slightest flaw.
The 2.0 Euro 6 engine in the 308 etc uses a plastic sump plug that is held in with a small split pin for safety’s sake.
It is recommended to change the whole plug on these, think they are about £10 from psa.
