Numpty requires Bluetooth fitting help. [Solved}

Bought a 12" male/male 3.5mm cable for £2.24 (delivered!) and attached the earphone socket of the phone to the aux socket of the hifi. It works OK, caller comes through very clear though I also have to close the windows to make myself properly audible. The mike of the phone picks up well from where it's dangling below the hifi.
The main problem (which difffers from bluetooth) is if I'm listening to anything but music from the phone (CD, USB etc) I'm reliant on seeing the phone lighting up to know there is a call, then switch to aux on the steering stalk and hit the answer button on the phone.
I don't make calls on the move so don't need to think about that.
Now looking at whether there is cheap way to hold the phone in a handy place. Blutac is not being considered!

I'm not really bothered about streaming music. I just want to be able to take phone calls on the move but with so many choices I don't know the best way to go about it.

I've gone the satnav route. It seemed to be the easiest option.

I just installed a parrot mki9100 (129 quid from halfords) and the call quality is very good. I needed an extra wiring adapter though which cost a further £10

What handset are you using with it?

I started off with an Htc Desire but I've now got a Sony Xperia SP.
If you get a kit with audio streaming capabilities it's a good way round the economy mode for listening with the engine off. Just wire it through a switch to the peach coloured wire for ign+
And if your phone has got an fm tooner you're sorted :-) up yours Shitroen!
