Easy sump removal on DV6
#1
Thumbs Up
Just thought i'd share this to save someone else the pain

I completely wrecked my sump and gouged the aluminum casting pretty bad whilst trying to get the b****rd off to re-gasket a small corner that was leaking Angry couple of hour job turned into 10 hours of swearing.

Upon fitting the new one I saw the two studs that are at either end of the block have a tiny spline cut in the top of them so when you undo them the flange pushes the sump off! Easy  Big Grin

Also: Loosen the cat & heat shield, don't have to remove it completely but it will make it so much easier
