COOLANT LEVEL
#1
Hi all

Can I ask someone to check the coolant level on their B9 when the engine is cold

Reason for asking is that on mine when the engine is cold the coolant level is on the minimum and wanted to know if this is ok or I am loosing coolant

Reading around appears that the coolant level supposed to be on minimum when cold and want to make sure

Thanks in advance

Sounds right, you need space for it to expand when hot. Mine is barely above the min level when cold and has never been a problem.

Mines always been at max mark when cold. I've topped it up very slightly about 3 times in the last 7yrs. I got a bottle of coolant topup from Cits & still have most of it left. I'd top it up to full mark & keep an eye on it.

I always thought fill to max when cold and should find it own level if over full. I know when I had a 2006 hdi if water level drops below min you get stop light on and beeping

I always keep my coolant and my engine oil levels halfway between MAX and MIN, and have never had any problems.
