This car would have the usual BSM or as PSA call it, "PSF1" in the engine bay.
It may be due to Australian climate, but I know personally of about five such units across the PSA range spontaneously dying; the acid test being direct swap with a known running unit (they're uncoded).
Des - have you any good friends running cars with interchangeable modules? It's a simple procedure; just power down like for BSI issues, then unplug your battery terminal and swap away.
