2006 berlingo 1.9 diesel help needed
#1
Hi guys, sorry my first post is a request for help, but I'm desperate now.
a friend berlingo van bought second hand from a back street garage guy, supposed to be a 2006 1.9 diesel
but the auxiliary belt snapped and the belt we got going on the reg was to big..
we suspect the engine has been replaced because the serpentine belt diagrams look nothing like the engine.i will post pictures any help appreciated
the pic of the lone roller this was attached to the bottom of the alternator next to the elliptical roller..
ignore the belt I only fitted it as  a test route.

forgot a picture.

p.s the reason the belt snapped was because of the mounting that holds
the power steering pump and alternator snapped at the top lugs
pulling the steering pump  off

I doubt it's been changed as it's not simple to go from 1.9 mech inj to 2.0 HDI. Look in the V5 and see what the quoted CC is. If it's 1997 cc then it's registered as the HDI. VED rate should give it away too. If you go by the reg no you should get the correct belt or be told there is a choice.
I suspect you have a belt for airconned car, but yours has no aircon?

The belt you bought is shorter, buy one with the same reference as the one that came off and you should be able to fit it.
So where does this bit go then ?
