Interior door panel removal
#1
My rear sliding door handle has failed.
Thanks to this forum I learned it was a broken pin and was able to order one on ebay.

Now, can anyone tell me how to get the interior door panel off without destroying it?
Specifically, those small round clips.
I've tried inserting a needle nose pliers under the edge hoping to force them out but it seems to just stretch them and makes it likely I'll need to go back to ebay to look for new clips.

Is there an easier way?

Was hoping to get this job done today but I've given up for now.
Next free time for car adventures will be Thursday afternoon.

You just need to be brave and give the panel a firm yank. Rather than trying to lever each clip out put a lever between the metal of the door and the plastic panel near the bottom out of sight adjacent to a clip. Put a piece of rag between lever and door to avoid scratches. Once the first clip is out put your fingers under the panel and pull by each clip. Word of caution where the cloth armrest is at the top of the panel you need to remove the cloth insert and there are 2 torx screws underneath. You wont get the panel of if you dont remove them.
