Radio feature.
#1
I was surprised our 03 Berlingo had a cassette player fitted, no big problem as I only use the radio but the other day I pressed the radio on button with no key in the ignition and it started playing. I thought this must be a wiring fault and did some research. I found (in the manual, who would have thought of looking there?) that it is a feature where you can play the radio without the keys and it cuts out after 30 minutes. I am going out later with the stop watch to verify this. Confusedalut:
So where does this bit go then ?

Yes, it defaults to economy mode to save the battery. Some consider this a feature Wink, others a pain in the arse :brickwall:. If your battery is not fully charged then the time will be less than 30 min.

yep, that sounds about right to me.

I was also surprised to find a cassette player fitted as standard in my 53' reg Berlingo, I mean who on earth was still listening to cassettes in 2003?? lol!
I guess they could have fitted a CD player, but they make more £££ by listing it as an optional extra or whetever.

You'd be surprised! The missus's 53 plate Mazda MX5 has a standard fit tape deck lol.

my 1992 Mazda mx5 had a (Japanese) tape deck as well, I can forgive that as it's 20 years ago since it came out the factory, but a 2003 car???

At least changing to a cd/ipod headunit is an easy enough job :-)

My '07 van had a tape deck as standard.
I had so much hassle trying to change it with something decent I gave up.
I used a cassete adapter and MP3 player until I got tied up with the wires then I used an FM transmitter with the MP3

I was so glad to get a CD player with my 10 plate MK3 but that was troublesome-if it decided it liked a particular CD it wouldnt give it back.

At least the Hearse has a usb source -much better idea
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top
