Just doing mine this monday (Easter) on my May '03 45000 mile 2.0HDi model.
Full set of discs and pads £65.00 from Camberley Auto Factors. You can get them from £46.00 on fleabay, but I feel that is way too cheap.

In answer to "They should last 100,000 miles Plus".
Why replace them after 45000 miles? Because I don't use the car much. It's 8 years old now and I cycle 5000 miles to and from work if you need to know why it's so low. Much of my driving is short haul, which will use the brakes up faster than motorway work.
The discs were still OK, but were badly rusted with lumps missing from the edges and some cooling fins badly corroded. Funnily enough, the pads are only about 1/2 worn. It seems rotting discs is common on b'ingos and Xsaras which use the same brakes.

Eurocarparts do Pagid among other makes too for a similar price, give them a look up online. Never had any particular issues with our Berls brakes yet.

Did this make much of a difference? What was the cost comparison?

You are looking at about 100 for both front discs and pads..... ebc.
Seem good, but replaced last year, so can't really remember how good/bad the old ones were! Smile

you should get over hundred thousand miles out of a set of disks

I'd love to know how you get 100,000 out of discs,my pads last about 40,000 & discs are worn(not rusted) enough to warrant renewal then.
